The Rights We Want

Dorcus is speaking to the Maasai community

This picture is of our strong local leader, Dorcus Parit. She is a wife, mother, daughter, sister, teacher, advocate, leader, and friend. She is on the front lines fighting for women and young girls rights to a full education, to stop the practice of FGM (Female Genital Mutilation) and child marriage, she cares for children that are in abusive situations, and she brings health to communities that lack clean water and basic needs.

“The rights we want: We want to pick our husband, we want to own the land, we want to go to school, we don’t want to be cut anymore, we want also to make decisions. We want respect in politics. We want to be leaders. We want to be equal.”

-Rebecca Lolsoli

Dorcus is incredibly well respected all the way up to the Kenyan Parliament and has been recognized for her work with her community. We know that as she continues to use her voice and life to lead, lasting change will come and the future for women in Kenya will be bright.

We are very proud of Dorcus!

I am amazed at what God can do with his vessels. Keep up the good services to your community. I can understand why It has been difficulty to trace John and Dorcus. Serving the King of Kings through serving the community. I think this is nobility.
