“It starts with us—ordinary, regular us—taking one step, then two, and then a hundred small steps in an intentional direction.” – Jeannie Marie
When we launch our Clean Water Program in communities, we take special care to build relationships with each person in front of us. We look out for those who are unsure and share a smile, a handshake, a greeting. Taking time with the shoshos (grandmothers) and making sure they understand how to clean their filter and why it is so important.
Over the last 6 years, we have worked with thousands of people, sharing the same life-changing information, answering hundreds of questions, celebrating the hope that is on the way, feeling the burden of those who came hoping for a filter but left because there weren’t enough to go around. We have worked hard to take consistent steps in the same direction to ensure there is trust and understanding with the leaders we work alongside.
One step, then two, and then a hundred steps with intention, seeking to learn, invest, love, grow, and empower communities with hope and life. It starts with ordinary you and me.
